Dig it! Prehistoric Exploration Camp


Dig It! The Fossil Workshop is a fun, interactive place where children dig in real sand quarries for their favorite 5 million to 600 million year old fossils. This summer, we have fun Summer Camps!

Time Travel!
Venture back over 100 million years for an expedition of a lifetime. Go on a Safari and become a dinosour hunter. Rock It! in our mineral lab, uncover the past in our fossil quarry, or explore the life of a Megalodon Shark, the largest shark ever recorded. Enjoy hands-on activities, refreshments, creative education and loads of fun! Camp classes run in two sessions, one for ages 4 to 8 and one for ages 9 to 12.

2008 CAMPS
$125 per week-long camp.
Camps have 5-sessions that meet Monday - Friday from 10am to 1pm. Drop-ins allowed ($30 per session).

MONDAY: ROCK IT!
Explore Rocks, Minerals, and Crystals
Every Rock has a story to tell. Transform yourself into a geologist and be part of an exciting discovery to tell the history of the Earth and how it was formed. Learn and examine different kinds of rocks, minerals and crystals

TUESDAY: MEGA! - Megalodon Sharks
Did you know that there are more than 300 different species of sharks? Swim back in time to about 400 million years ago, and meet the most successful creature in all of natural history, the Megalodon Shark. Explore the study of the remains of their skeletons and fossil teeth.

WEDNESDAY: MESSAGE IN A FOSSIL
Uncovering the Past
Play the role of a paleontologist and excavate fossils at a dig site. Use fossil evidence to gain an understanding of how life looked at the time of the dinosaurs.

THURSDAY: CLIFFS ARE MY HOME, BUT MY FOOD IS IN THE SEA - Who Am I?
Dinosaurs left clues behind. Go back in time, on a prehistoric safari and become a modern day dinosaur hunter.

FRIDAY: CONNECT THE DOTS
What Fossils and Minerals Tell Us About Our World
Fossils and Minerals tell us much about our Earth and its history.
