BOY SCOUTS
Satisfy Some Key Requirements for the Geology and Archeology Merit Badges

Our programs assist with some key published learning areas for the Geology and Archeology badge requirements. Our scout program is tailored to meeting those key requirements and we are happy to work with scout leaders to customize it even further for their troups. We have age-appropriate programs that would serve the needs of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.

GEOLOGY BADGE

  1. Step 5, Option C - Mineral Resources Option - is where we can be the most helpful. Our Learning Center has many fossils and minerals on display.
  2. Step 3 gives the choice of collecting 10 or identifiying 15 rocks and minerals, which can easily be accomplished in our center.
ARCHEOLOGY BADGE
  1. Check out the Archeology Badge Worksheet.
  2. Our program will give direction and information that will help with the homework parts of the badge requirements, specifically with steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 11.
  3. Our program can satisfy requirement 8, option c, which references a mock dig.
 

GIRL SCOUTS

Looking for a troop activity that is fun and educational? Want to help all the girls in the troop earn a merit badge together? Plan a group visit to Dig It! and we'll help you fullfill several of the requirements for the Science and Rocks Rock! Merit Badges. Call ahead and receive a valuable group discount.

Holding your meeting at Dig It! will ad an unexpected fun element for your participants.
